Lunch With A Landowner Event
Lunch With A Landowner
The Rainwater Basin is a landscape of shallow playa wetlands scattered across gently rolling loess plains in south-central Nebraska. The goal of the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture (RWBJV) is to support our agricultural communities while providing habitat conservation for millions of migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, and other wildlife in the Rainwater Basin. The RWBJV works with agriculture producers and conservation partners to enhance adequate wetland habitat through enrollment in conservation programs, cost-share assistance, and habitat management.
Join us for a free meal and discussion on wetland conservation and cost-share programs. Nick and Ryan Happold, Hall County landowners, will talk about their experience with conservation programs and how it benefited their farming operations. Rainwater Basin Joint Venture Habitat Specialist, Cortney Schaefer, will talk about cost-share programs available through the RWBJV and how to manage wetlands.
Invite your neighbors: Partnerships across property lines can increase the cost-effectiveness of management and reduce future management needs.
